The fourth individual caught up in the betting scam, now called the NRL betting scandal, has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempts at obtaining almost $50,000 in an illegal manner.
The not-guilty plea was submitted at the Downing Centre Local Court by the gambling accused, Gregory Adam Tait's, lawyer, earlier today. Tait is also accused of betting, at the New Zealand Racing Board, to the tune of $29,000.
The betting scandal erupted when former Bulldogs player Ryan Tandy allegedly indulged in betting by fixing match incidents in last year's NRL game against the North Queensland Cowboys. Incidently the current illegal gambling accused, Tait, was once the real estate agent for the former player.
