Studies suggest online sports betting exacerbates gambling problems

Alex Blaszczynski, a psychology professor, found out that online sports betting is increasing the number of people who gamble for long hours. The earlier stereotype of a man sitting for hours at the poker table is being replaced by someone indulging in sports betting for hours on the internet.
He says that as young men can lose their fortunes sitting in the comfort of their home while sports betting, the gambling problem has increased. Figures show that there has been a whopping 70% increase in sports betting in the last two years, than to higher internet speeds and new internet sports betting sites.
Christopher hunt, a clinical psychologist says that it is impossible to not know the betting prices and for most people watching the games, it's a natural response to indulge in some sports betting.
