Usage of whip in Horse racing: Is it Cruel?

British Horse racing's racecourse celebrated its 300th year. But the issue of whether or not to allow jockeys to whip their horses to obtain better results from horses is still debatable. The British Horse racing Authority (BHA) is giving second thoughts to the usage of whip in Horse racing.
Jamie Stier, the director of the regulation at the BHA, said that "It is not just about satisfying secular interest, it is about the betterment of horse racing.'' The British Horse racing Authority is in the opinion that whip use is not cruel and the recent modifications of design have softened it in lately. However, some welfare groups are worried that horses are forced beyond their capacity the way they are persuaded at the end of every Horse racing.
